Online Tutoring Services

Since I began my tutoring services with my partnering online platforms, varsitytutors.com, and tutor.com, I have seen a 325% increase in sales.   I am doing so well that Varsity Tutors increased my hourly base pay by $3 per hour and tutor.com increased my base pay rate by $2 per hour.

I began with only 2 students and 2 sessions during the second week of September 2024.  Now I teach an average of 20 sessions per week through the Varsity Tutors platform.

I began with only 1 college student on tutor.com during the third week of September 2024.  Now I teach an average of 5-10 college students and grade school students each week.

I receive an average of 5 five-star reviews from my clients on both tutoring platforms per month.  I have an average client satisfaction rating of 4.9/5 on varsitytutors.com platform and an average client satisfaction rating of 4.9/5 on tutor.com for the last 2 months and 4.5/5 overall since last September 2024.

Since I have such a high client rating on both tutoring platforms, I am now performing in the top 10% on both platforms and was promoted to Intermediate Online Tutor last November 2024.

 *Student Success Highlights

• A 7^th-grade student was in danger of failing when I first started tutoring once a week in October 2024. She earned 48% F for the 1st quarter, 68% D for the 2nd quarter, 77% C for the 3rd quarter, and so far in the 4th quarter, 81% B!
• A 1st-grade student who I began working with in Reading in November 2024 has improved her reading level from level B (Pre-Kindergarten Level) to Level L(2nd-grade level) in just 6 months after intensive phonics instruction with short and long vowel sounds in word families.  She saw an IEP speech therapist twice a week and was below level in reading and writing before I started working with her.  She did not think she was smart because she was a non-reader when I started with her last November.
• A 3rd-grade student has maintained A grades on classwork and tests in English Language Arts and Math in the last 4 months.  She began last October 2024.
• I have been working with a 4th-grade student since November 2024.  She has been struggling with reading and math since kindergarten.  She was below reading grade level.  Now she is performing well with A’s and Bs in both subjects and can solve 1 and 2-step word problems. She learned all 12 times tables facts in tutoring and has more confidence.
• A 3^rd-grade student began his tutoring sessions last October 2024, learned all the 12 times tables facts in 5 months, and has received so many rewards and A grades in Math for knowing his multiplication facts.
• A 6^th-grade student began her tutoring sessions with me last November 2024.  She was struggling with reading and math and was functioning at a 3^rd-4^th grade level in both subjects because of COVID.  Now, after tutoring her and helping her to master some reading comprehension, fluency, algebra, geometry, measurement, and problem-solving, she maintains a grade B average in both subjects.

Podcasts

We have now completed 40 podcast episodes called “A Teaching Moment with Mr. B” since my first podcast on July 18, 2022.  We have recorded and published the first 32 podcast episodes on Spotify.  We have recorded the last 8 episodes since last September 2024 on my YouTube channel.  The topics are all centered around educational issues we are confronted with in our nation and issues I have discussed in my first published award-winning book, “Guidelines for the Successful Student: A Closer Look at Parenting Your School-Aged Child.”  We have been doing podcasts for almost 3 years.

As a self-publishing author, I published my first book, “Guidelines for the Successful Student: A Closer Look at Parenting Your School-Aged Child” on July 26, 2021, on amazon.com.

To date, we have sold 110 paperback and e-kindle book copies and counting.

Last December 2024, I won the International Impact Book Award for my first book under the Parenting Category.  The award only goes to books that make the top 10% according to the judging criteria.  My book is in the top 10% of all the books that won the award- only 5 out of 50 entries were chosen in this category and my book was one of them.

I am in the process of publishing 2 new books I have written; both of which are Children’s Literature, one Humorous Fiction called “My Coconut Head” and the other Humorous Fiction called “Speller the Feller.”  Both will be published on Amazon this summer 2025.

I am currently writing my 4^th book called, “A Survival A-Z Guide for Beginning Teachers” which will be completed by this summer 2025.
