4 years now and counting!!!

Starting this podcast was not something I had planned for years. It began with a simple idea: I wanted a way to share what I’ve learned from decades in education, tutoring, and working with students and families. I saw firsthand that many parents, educators, and students needed encouragement, practical strategies, and someone to explain things in a real, honest way. The podcast became that outlet.
At first, I hesitated.
I asked myself:
Do I really have something worth saying?
Will anyone listen?
Am I too late to start something new?
Like many people who begin a new journey, I battled doubt before I ever recorded a single word.
The Early Challenges

One of the first obstacles was learning the technical side. I had to figure out microphones, recording software, editing, and publishing things that were completely outside my comfort zone as an educator. There were moments of frustration when recordings didn’t sound right, files didn’t save, or I had to start over.
Time was another challenge. Balancing tutoring, planning for students, running my business, and personal responsibilities meant I had to be intentional about carving out time to record. There were days when it felt easier to postpone—but I knew consistency would matter if I truly wanted to build something meaningful.
Finding My Voice

Another trial was not technical at all—it was personal.
Talking into a microphone without a classroom in front of me felt strange at first. As teachers, we feed off interaction, facial expressions, and questions. Podcasting required me to trust that someone on the other side needed to hear the message, even if I couldn’t see them.
Over time, I stopped trying to sound “perfect” and focused on being authentic. That shift changed everything. The podcast became less about performance and more about purpose.
Staying Consistent Through Doubt

There were moments when growth felt slow. Every creator faces that stage where they wonder if the effort is making a difference. But I reminded myself that education is never about instant results—it’s about impact over time. Even if one parent, one teacher, or one student benefited, the work was worthwhile.
What This Journey Taught Me
Starting this podcast reinforced lessons I’ve taught students for years:
- You don’t have to know everything to begin.
- Growth happens through doing, not waiting.
- Challenges are part of the learning process.
- Your experience has value when you use it to help others.
- Consistency beats perfection every time.

Why I Continue

Today, the podcast is an extension of my classroom where I can teach, encourage, and share strategies beyond four walls. It allows me to reach families and educators I may never meet, but who are walking the same path.
This journey hasn’t been without obstacles, but every challenge strengthened my confidence and clarified my mission: to educate, inspire, and support others in their learning journeys.
And just like I tell my students, this is only the beginning.
